      Age 60, died peacefully Friday, September 6, 2002 at home with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 29, 1941 in Appleton, son of Wilfred and Louise (Marsch) Vanevenhoven. On June 23, 1962 he married the former Nancy Jansen at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute. The couple celebrated 40 years of marriage together and resided in Combined Locks for the past 31 years. Bruce was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper, recently retiring after almost 41 years of service. Bruce raised five sons and put his children first, sending them all through college. His pride and joy was his one and only grandchild, Kailey, who was a blessing to the family. Bruce had a distinctive laugh and could be easily recognized in a crowd. If you needed a shoulder, advice or something fixed...he was there. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed Country music and spending time with his family. Bruce was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks, and the Thilmany Quarter Century Club. Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy, Combined Locks five sons and two daughters-in-law: Troy (fiancee Lori Gettendorf), Menasha Brad (Delisa), Arvada, Colorado Todd (Danielle), Jody (girlfriend Katie Walbrandt) Ryan (fiancee Amy Lamers), all of Combined Locks a granddaughter, Kailey Amber his mother, Louise Vanevenhoven, Menasha a brother and sister-in-law, Gary (Mary) Vanevenhoven, Appleton three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Darlene (Tim) VandeHey, Wrightstown Sandy (Michael) Coffey, Kaukauna Mary Gast (fiancee Rick Babler), Appleton numerous nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his wife's family: Grace Jansen, Katie (Marty) Marasch, all of Little Chute Linda (Jim) Gibson, Char (Jim) Bricco, Steve (Diane) Jansen, all of Appleton Cindy (Mark) Verhagen, Julie (Bruce) Verhagen, all of Little Chute. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred and father-in-law, Richard Jansen. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks with Father Robert Vandenberg officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church from 2 p.m. Monday until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family.
