- Sheboygan Press, Sunday, 11 December 1988: Connie A. Hamer, 67, of 1849 N. 25th St., died Sunday, Dec 11, 1988 at St. Nicholas Hospital, after a short illness. Connie was born 4 Dec 1921 in Kaukauna and was the son of the late Lucille and Stanley Hamer. He was a graduate of Appleton High School and served in the US navy during WWII.
On May 25, 1946, he and Margaret O'Connor were married in Appleton. Connie was employed as a Supervisor for Schultz Sav-O in 1959 until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Dominic Parish, the Men's Club of the Parish and the Schultz Sav-O 25 year club. Survivors include his wife Margaret, two daughters and a son in law; Susan of Green Bay; Mary Lynn and Steve Seidl, all of Appleton ; two sons and a daughter in law, Steve & Helen Hamer; Jack & Kohler of Hartland; three grandchildren, Shannon and Sean Hamer and Kim Seidl; Four sisters, Mrs. LaBell Biechler, Mrs. Ralph (Priscilla) DeDecker and Mrs. Ramona Krause, all of Appleton, and Mrs. Larry (June) Hebeler, Menasha. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Dix.
The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, Dec 13, 1988 at St. Dominic Catholic Church. The Rev. Patrick Wendt, Associate pastor, will be celebrant. The mass will be preceded by family rites at 9:30 am from the Rettke Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
