Newhouse, Mildred Mrs. Gordon
Mildred Newhouse, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, age 76, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, in Tucson, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born February 17, 1933, in Wrightstown, daughter of the late Antone and Sophia (Lamers) Nelessen. She married Gordon Newhouse on May 12, 1955, in Wrightstown, sharing 54 years together.
Before moving to Arizona, Mildred and Gordon were members of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Wrightstown, and then St. Pius X Catholic Church, Appleton.
Milly will be dearly missed by her husband, Gordon of Tucson, AZ, four daughters and two sons-in-law: Karen Newhouse, Tucson, AZ; Julianne Newhouse, Tucson, AZ; Lisa and Rick Brown, Pleasant Hill, CA; Maria and Jeff Virlee, Neenah; three sons and daughters-in-law: Mark and Cheryl Newhouse, Green Bay; Terry and Debbie Newhouse, Prospect, KY; Jay and Meri Newhouse, Bountiful, UT; two brothers and seven sisters-in-law: Eugene and Bernice Nelessen, Robert and Marion Nelessen, Mary Kessler, Ceil Nelessen, Rita Nelessen, Shirley Newhouse and Carol Newhouse; three sisters and five brothers-in-law: Lorly and Gene Van Camp, Helen Diedrick, Sophia "Dolly" and Dale Meulemans, Art Vosters, Don Newhouse and Carl Newhouse; eleven grandchildren: Andrew, Aaron, Ben, Gatlin, Alexis, Jordon and Lincoln Newhouse; Alec and Kate Brown; and Stella and Amelia Virlee.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Norbert, Urb, Clarence and Jim Nelessen; three sisters: Ruth VandeHey, Eunice Vosters and Marie Vosters; three sisters-in-law: Betty and Arlene Nelessen, and Dort Newhouse; four brothers-in-law: Len VandeHey, Bill Vosters, Ed Vosters and Richard Diedrick.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 E. Marquette St., Appleton, with Rev. Thomas Farrell officiating. Entombment will take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery, 2121 Riverside Dr., Green Bay. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
