    • His obituary states that he was a school teacher at Nepomtis (also know as Little Chute. In 1856, while teaching school, he accepted a position as clerk in the Register's Office in Fond du Lac. In 1858 he was elected Clerk of Circuit Court of Outagamie Co. He held the office for three terms (6 years). In 1866 he was elected to the Office of Register of Deeds and re-elected in 1866. In 1857 he was appointed Postmaster of Little Chute and position he held until his death.
