- Jansen, Norbert M. (Gabby) Kaukauna, WI
Our thoughtful and caring Dad was united with his Heavenly Father and his favorite redhead, LaVerne, at the age of 86 on Friday, November 21, 2003. He was born on December 23, 1916 in Little Chute, the son of Martin and Mary (Lamers) Jansen. Norbert married LaVerne King on July 4, 1941; she preceded him in death on October 7, 1978. He was a WWII veteran, proudly serving his country in the US Army from 1942 to 1945, stationed in Germany for 18 months. Norbert was a retired mason and partner with Jansen Construction Co., Little Chute. Besides being the company's bookkeeper, he too pride in constructing some of the most beautiful fireplaces in the Valley. After retirement, he enjoyed making crafts. His family and several of his friends will forever enjoy his handmade bird houses, dollhouses, flower trellises, trivets, and plant stands. Norbert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a former member of the choir, and a former lector. He was a committee member for the Boy Scouts of America for 26 years, a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258, and the Electric City VFW Post 3319. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, and golfing. In later years, He enjoyed watching the Brewers, Packers, and golf on TV.
Survivors include three daughters, five sons & their spouses: Karen & Bob Biese of Combined Locks, Kathy & Bill Pennoyer of Wauwatosa, Marge & Leon Franzke of Omro; Tom & Linda of Brookfield, Bob & Judy of Kalamazoo, MI, Bill and Judy of Waukesha, Timm & Sue of Appleton, and Don & Kelly of Appleton. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren: Jeff Biese (josh, Ryan & Anna), Michelle (Dan) Dewick & children Kyla & Logan, Mike (Jenny) Biese, Kara & Maggie Pennoyer, Val, Pam & Angie Franzke; Chad, Kyle, Clark, Amanda, Lauren, Sarah, Maria, Alyssa, and John Jansen. He is further survived by his brothers Al (Carol), and Marty (Sue), sisters; Agnes Moeri, and Delores (Vernon) Leisch; in-laws: Joe Dollevoet, Alvina & Grace Jansen, Gene (Elaine) King, Dorothy Spierings, Lenore Ball, Ann King. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: John R. (Lorraine), Tony (Lee), Vincent, Joe, & Gerald; sisters Adriana LeNoble, Sella Dollevoet, Gertie (Gordon) Marquardt; in-laws; Ed & Madge King, Wins & Pearl Saiberlich, Charles Moeri, Leo King, Les Luedtke, Ed Spierings, Dean Ball, one grand-daughter, and triplet great-grand-sons.
The Mass of Resurrection will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kaukauna with Fr. Robert Udulutsch officiating. Full Burial Military rites will follow.ace at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association. Visitation will be at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr. Kaukauna from 4 p.m. until a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. on Monday and again at Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at St Mary Cemetery in Kaukauna.
