- James Richard McGrath, age 37, of Brillion, died after a 5 year battle with medulloblastoma brain cancer on Monday, August 6, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born on September 12, 1974 in Eau Claire, WI, son of Yvonne (Aylesworth) McGrath and the late David McGrath. He married Heather Danke on September 5, 1998 in Greenville. When he moved to the Valley, James worked at Fox Communities Credit Union. He then returned to school and received his degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for the Brillion Police Department who became like family to James and his family. Survivors include his wife Heather, two daughters Grace and Gabrielle, a son Gavin, his mother Yvonne McGrath of Eau Claire, maternal grandmother Philomena Aylesworth, a sister Melissa (Jason) Moser of Ellsworth, a brother Daniel (Atty) McGrath of Pewaukee, and Uncle James McGrath who was a very special person in his life. He is further survived by his mother and father-in-law, Tom and Judy Danke of Hortonville, sister-in-law Heidi Danke of Hortonville, sister-in-law Carisa (Jeremiah) Corser of Darboy, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his father David McGrath. Celebration of James' life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion. Chaplin Jordan Kuczwara will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be made at www.wieting-funeralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in James' name.
