    • Emma Heimerl, age 95, of Hilbert, died on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Westhaven Assisted Living in Brillion.

      She was born on Feb. 12, 1917 in Rural Hilbert, daughter of the late John & Elizabeth (Herman) Diener. She married Francis M. Heimerl on Nov. 9, 1943 at St. Mary Rectory in Hilbert; he preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1978. Emma worked for the Hernke Cheese House in Hilbert prior to her marriage. She and her husband farmed in the Town of Chilton for many years until she moved to Hilbert in 1981.

      She was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert, and a member of the Ladies Aid.

      Emma was a loving & devoted wife and mother who greatly cherished each and every member of her family. She always looked forward to visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially during holiday gatherings. Her family will miss her holiday meals, especially the dressing and blueberry torte. She enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, gardening, canning, and a lively round of Sheepshead.

      Survivors include 6 children, Sharon (Michael) Rataichek of Hilbert, Gloria Heimerl of Sheboygan, Barbara (Craig) Block of Appleton, Ronald Heimerl of West Bend, Marion (Rod) Burr of Neenah, Jim (Karen) Heimerl of Forest Junction; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey Rataichek, Wendy (Ron) Hoffmeyer, Amanda (Tom) Campbell, Andrew (Danielle) Block, Lacy (Rob) Ament, Tucker (Katie) Burr, Christopher (Susan) Heimerl, Marc (Johanna) Heimerl; 13 great grandchildren, Emma Price, Ryan, Cole, Aric, & Chase Hoffmeyer, Brayden, Addy, & Bentley Campbell, William Block, Lauren Ament, James, Luke, & Greta Heimerl; 2 sisters-in-law, Henrietta Knepfel of Ripon, Marcella Lenz of Chilton; and a special God Child, Sandra Dobberfuhl. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild: Laney Marie Campbell, 5 sisters, Amalia Kuhl, Elizabeth Sitzman, Katie Brock Ida Harward, Marie Lemke; and 3 brothers, John, John, and Gottlieb Diener.

      Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at St. Peter Lutheran Church (43 N. 3rd St.) in Hilbert with the Rev. Brian Crane officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Hilbert. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 and on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM.

      A memorial fund has been established in the name of Emma Heimerl.

      The family would like to thank the staff of Brillion Westhaven and Heartland Hospice for all of the loving care that was provided to Emma. They would also like to thank everyone from St. Peter Lutheran Church, especially Pastor Crane and Judy Paulson for all of the visits and prayer.
