- Wm Kuepper, a pioneer settler of the town of Harrison, passed away Wednesday afternoon at the family home on First St., Menasha, after an illness of several years. Death came peacefully as Mr. Kuepper was sitting in this chair carrying on a conversation with his wife.
Wm. Kuepper was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dec. 29th, 1844 and moved to Milwaukee with his parents when but a mere boy. Later came to the town of Harrison locating on a farm which was 46 years ago. Two years later he was united in marriage, farming until about 8 years ago when he purchased a home on First St., Menasha, to enjoy a retired life so well deserved after the many years of hard toil on the farm. During his residence in our town he was elected to the office of Town Treasurer, supervisor and assessor.
The deceased is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Wm Wilds; two sons, William P. and John H. Kuepper, two sisters, Mrs. John Rohe and Mrs. John Wilz and three brothers, Frank, Hubert and John.
The funeral was held from the late home at Menasha Saturday morning after which the remains were brought here, where services were held at the Sacred Heart church and interment is in the Catholic Cemetery. A number of old friends attended.
