Mrs. Roland Hopfensperger (Angie Harzheim) 1815 N. Birchwood Dr., Appleton, age 74, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died Tuesday, January 15, 1991 at her home following a courageous struggle with cancer. She was born March 14, 1916 in Appleton, daughter of the late William and Barbara (Klemmer) Hartzheim and had been a Appleton resident all of her llife. Angie was united in marriage to Roland Hopfensperger on June 6, 1935, sharing 55 years together. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Butte des Morts Golf Club.
Survivors include her husband, Roland; a daughter and son in-law; Mary jane and John Ashman, Turlock, Califorina; two sons and daughters in-law; Ronald and Marlene Hopfensperger; Tom and Cindy Hopfensperger, all of Appleton; a son in-law, Robert Hoersch, Appleton; 11 grandchildren; Lori, Steven and Jeff Hoersch; Tracy Belling, Christine Hopfensperger, Tim Hopfensperger, Cara Wallers, Jody Jorge, Chad, Kim, Jenni Hopfensperger, five great grandchildren; Tyler Hoersch, Dennis and Hannah Jorge, Allissa Belling and Josh Belling; two sisters and brothers in-law; her twin sister, Adeline and Chuck Wyngaard, Little Chute; Josephine and George Van Lyssel, Rockford, Illinois; also nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Angie was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Hoersch; a son, Terry; three brothers; Richard, Willford (Bill) and Michael Hartzheim. The Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., with the Rev. Michael o'rourke officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, 606 N. Oneida St. from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday and until 10:30 a.m. Friday at which time the cortege will leave for the church. The prayer service will be 7 p.m. Thursday. A memorial fund has been established for the Appleton Community Hospice and the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Appleton Community Hospice and Dr. George Stanis for the wonderful care they gave Angie.
