    • Hopfensperger, Roland Edward Appleton

      Roland age 92 died at home Monday morning August 30, 2004 surrounded by his family, extended family and friends. Roland was born January 9, 1912 in Darboy, WI. He was united in marriage to Angeline Hartzheim, sharing 57 years together before her death on January 15, 1991. He later married Liz McCarthy on September 11, 1993. Roland founded R. Hopfensperger Construction and R. Hopfensperger Realty. His greatest sources of pride were his family and his business. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Liz, children Ron and Marlene Hopfensperger – Naples, FL., Maryjane and Jon Ashman – Turlock, CA,. Tom and Cindy Hopfensperger – Shiocton; son-in-law Bob Hoersch (Katie) – Appleton; a sister Ann Wildenberg – Kimberly; grandchildren Lori Hoersch, Steve (Bonnie) Hoersch, Jeff (Karen) Hoersch, Tracy (Rob) Belling, Chris (Mark) Klaubauf, Tim (Angie) Hopfensperger, Cara (Brian) Outlaw, Jody (Roger) Jorge, Chad (Leigh) Hopfensperger, Kim Hopfensperger, Jenni Hopfensperger; 13 great grandchildren; step-children Cindy and Bill Nack, Sheila and Ken Schueler, Mary and Mark Olson, and Kelly and Sue McCarthy; step-grandchildren Aaron, Jamie, and Joel Nack; Ken Jr. and Kerri Schueler; Mike and Matt Stolzman; Nate, Aaron, Steve, and Angie Olson; Meggie, Don, and Kyle McCarthy; and one step-great grandchild. Roland was preceded in death by his first wife Angeline, a daughter Shirley Hoersch, a son Terry Hopfensperger, 5 sisters and 5 brothers. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday September 1st at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S, State St., with Fr. Michael O’Rourke officiating. Friends may call directly at the church from 9AM Wednesday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Affinity Hospice.
