Notes - A funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, 1998, in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Forest Grove for Rose M. Meeuwsen, who died June 2 at age 84. A vigil prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home in Forest Grove.
Mrs. Meeuwsen was born May 7, 1914, in Roy. Her maiden name was Vanderzanden. She was a grocery clerk in Banks, Cornelius and Forest Grove until retiring in 1970 and served on the Washington County Home Extension Advisory Board. In 1987, she moved from the Banks area to Forest Grove. She married Francis A. ''Frank'' in 1935; he died in 1989.
Survivors include her sons, Harvey of Seaside and Dean of Forest Grove; daughters, Sally Shumway of Bridgeport, Ellen of Portland and Roxann Heffelfinger of Anacortes, Wash.; brother, Paul Vanderzanden of North Plains; sister, Florence Evers of Forest Grove; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Roy. The family suggests remembrances to St. Francis Grade School in Banks or to a favorite charity.
