      Age 52, passed away suddenly at 8:30 p.m. Monday. He was born May 18, 1912 in Appleton and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and Holy Name Society of St. Mary Catholic Church. At the present time he was employed at Heigl's Grocery. He was manager of 11 years of the Catholic Club and was also employed by Larry's Ambulance Service for 9 years. He was chief petty officer of World War II.

      Survivors are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Laux; his mother, Mrs. Anna Hopfensperger, two brothers, Edward and Joseph, all of Appleton; three sisters, Sister Mary Ann, Ladysmith, Wisconsin; Mrs. Barbara Seibold, Boulder, Colorado; Mrs. Leo Driessen, Kaukauna.

      Funeral services will be at 10:10 a.m. Thursday at St. Marys Catholic Church with interment in the Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ellenbecker Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Tuesday where the rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
