      Mrs. John (Mary Hopfensperger) Grode, 70, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter (Mary) Wolff at Appleton on Friday afternoon of last week. She was born in Neenah November 1, 1855. She married John Grode 1873, after which they made their home here, until about twelve yers ago, when they retired from farm life and moved into Appleton. Mr. and Mrs. celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on May 26, 1923, and Mr. Grode died the following month of November.
      She is survived by a son, Charles Grode, of Little Chicago, two daughters, Mrs. Peter (Mary) Wolff, of Appleton, and Mrs. Daniel (Lena) Wallace of this place; two brothers, John Hopfensperger, of this place, and William, of Appleton; one sister, Mrs. Martin (Louisa) Toonen, of Appleton, 22 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
      Her funeral solemn high mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church of Appleton at 9:30 and interment took place here in the family lot.
