- Tuesday March 12, 2002 Hartzheim, Lillian (nee Sprangers) Darboy
Age 69, died Sunday, March 10, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton following a six year battle with leukemia. She was born May 5, 1932 in Darboy, Wisconsin; daughter of the late George and Mary (Grode) Sprangers. On September 2, 1954 Lillian married Leon Hartzheim at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy. She was a volunteer at the Community Blood Center in Little Chute. Lillian found special joy in spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed golf, bowling, baking and her garden. She was an active lifelong member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Darboy where she was a past member of the St. Anns Society, a member of the Funeral Choir and had served as an Eucharistic Minister and a Lector.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Leon, Darboy; their children: Mary (Allan) VerVoort, Madison; Lee Ann (Marc) Steffens, Brookfield; Ellen (Robert) Nunberg, Minneapolis; Mark (Kay) Hartzheim, Kaukauna; Beth (Jon) Wittmann, Combined Locks; Kay (Scott) Metko, St. Paul; Maury (Carrie) Hartzheim, Kaukauna; Cliff (Kay) Hartzheim, Kaukauna; Fred (Lori) Hartzheim, Germantown; 20 grandchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Gin (Ronald) Friebel, Combined Locks; Eileen (Clarence) Schneider, Chilton; Alice (Michael) Schreiber, Darboy; Lois (Raymond) Schreiber, Menasha; two sisters-in-law: Linda Sprangers, Kaukauna; Mary Sprangers, Hollandtown; numerous nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her husbands family: David (Dolores) Hartzheim, California; Grace (Carl) Kessler, Appleton.
She was preceded in death by a stillborn son, O.J.; three brothers: Charles, Fred and George. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy with Fr. Thomas Pomeroy officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday directly at the church until the time of services. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
