- Claude J. Halbach Sr., 81, of 2409 Can Buren Street New Holstein, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.
He was born May 7, 1917 in Marytown, son of Vincent and Martina Casper Halbach.
On Sept. 7, 1937, he married Margaret Holtzmann at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. She preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 1982. On Dec 28, 1982 he married Mildred Verhage at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in new Holstein. She preceded him in death on March 23, 1998.
Claude attended grade school in Marytown. He was employed for 38 years at the Kolher Company. He retired in 1974. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Kolher Company Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
Survivors are three sons, Claude Jr. (Marge), Oostburg; Kenneth (Sherrie), Reedsville and Ronald (Peggy), New Holstein; four daughters, Shirley (Bill) Rolloff, Las Vegas, Nev.; Martina (Art) Abler, Wittenburg; Mary Lou (Herb) Wissbroecker, New Holstein and Betty (Tom) Reese, new Holstein; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; five brothers, Syl Halbach, New Holstein; Edmund ( Bernie) Halbach, Kiel; Jim Halbach, Fond Du Lac; Howard Halbach, Sheboygan; and Vincent(Marie)Halbach, Johnsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, first and second wife, one brother, Robert; one son Roman and one great-great granddaughter.
