Mrs. William Vanden Elzen (Catherine Wallace) 515 N. Rankin St. Appleton age 75 died after a short illness at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 1989 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born November 18, 1913 in Darboy, the daughter of the lateDaniel and Lena (Grode] Wallace. On May 12, 1945 she married William Vanden Elzen at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy. Along with her husband, she was self employed in the restaurant business. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton.
She will be greatly missed by a son and daughter in-law; William C. and Linda, Appleton; two daughters and son in-laws; Mary A. and Michael Mullins, Midland, Michigan; Diane M. and Brian Post, Appleton; eight grandchildren; Sarah, Joseph and Adam Vanden Elzen, Lucy, Emily and John Mullins, Jacob and Emma Post; two sisters; Isabell Stumpf. Darboy; Beatrice Buchinger, Kaukauna; Three brothers and sisters in-law; Daniel and Margaret Wallace, Combined Locks; John and Josie Walllace, Clem and Gerry Wallace, all of Darboy; a brother in-law; Henry Stumpf, Neenah; a sister in-law; Stella Wallace, Little chute; three brother in-laws; John and Angela Vanden Elzen, Clarence and Bernice Vanden Elzen, all of Kimberly; Edward and Elaine Vanden Elzen, Kaukauna; five sisters in-law; Sr. M. Rosalene, Appleton; Marie Van Stralen, Combined Lock; Theresa and Henry Driessen, Little Chute; Ceil and John Vanden Heuvel, Kimberly; Agnes and Clarence Knabenbauer, Kimberly.
She was preceded in death by he husband, William, October 20, 1988; two sisters; Rose Sprangers and Margaret Stumpf; a brother James. The complete funeral services will be Saturday June 17, 1989 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence Street. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Surerior St., on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the cortege leaves for the church. Prayer and scripture service will be at 7 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund is being established. Catherine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and dearly devoted to her family. She will be sadly missed.
