    • Menasha - Virginia "Virgie" Pozolinski, age 96, of Menasha, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Gardens of Fountain Way Assisted Living on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Virgie was born November 15, 1922 in Neenah, daughter of the late Elias and Lucy (Urban) Bayer. She married Bernard Pozolinski on October 12, 1946 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. Bernie preceded her in death on August 30th, 2003. Virgie worked at the Kimberly-Clark Lakeview Mill in the 1940's, volunteered for the Red Cross, and also worked part time at Montgomery Ward until her retirement. She enjoyed boating, traveling, camping, bowling, family gatherings, card clubs and was also a Girl Scout leader. Virgie's primary devotion, however, was to her family, and she was a wonderful mother, grandma, and great-grandma, who loved keeping family traditions throughout the years. Virgie was a life-long member of St. Mary Catholic Church and delighted in baking pies and cakes for the Bazaar and other activities at church. She was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary in Appleton.

Virgie is survived by her sons: Mark (Mary) Pozolinski , Ronald (Lori) Pozolinski, and Alan Pozolinski; a daughter, Kristie (Russ) Lang; grandchildren: Erin (Dan) Vande Hey, Kristin (Todd) Vorel and Brittany Wilke; great-grandchildren: Caden, Bennett and Malia VandeHey; Evelyn, Leeland, Miriam and Florence Vorel, and Dawson Wilke; two sisters-in-law: Mary Sturm and Dorothy Pozolinski, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Norbert and Marseilles (Doris) Bayer; two sisters: Marian (Sylvester) Lynch, and Helen (Gilbert) Weiland; and two brothers-in-law: Glenn Sturm and Edward Pozolinski.

The Funeral mass for Virgie will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha. The family wishes to thank the outstanding staff of Gardens of Fountain Way Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice, especially nurse Crystal, for their compassionate, loving care of Virgie.
