- Myron "Mike" Sprangers, 82, Lakewood, formerly of Green Bay, died peacefully at a local hospital on Sunday, March 18, 2012, with his family by his side. Born on March 4, 1930, in the town of Buchanan, he was the son of the late Mathias and Rose (Wallace) Sprangers. On Sept. 26, 1953, he married the former Dorothy "Dottie" Lubinski at St. Mary's Church in Marion, Wis. In his younger years, Mike worked for Northwest Engineering, and then started Sprangers Steam Extraction, which he owned and operated for many years. Most recently he worked as a bus driver for Lamers Bus Company in Green Bay. Mike enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, golfing, cooking, gardening, and taking care of his long-time love, Dorothy. He was most proud of his woodworking, and made many beautiful pieces of furniture for his church and his family.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; five children, Sue (Gary) Pamperin, De Pere; Sherry (Brian) DonLevy, Green Bay; Kathy (fiance, Bill Sconzert) Siebert, Green Bay; Steve (Ann) Sprangers, De Pere; Gloria Payne, De Pere; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; seven siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings; one daughter, Mary Jo Skully, one grandson, Davie Kwilinski; two sons-in-law, Ralph Payne, Steve Siebert.
Visitation at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, 15232 Country Road F, Lakewood, Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Jason Blahnik officiating. MALCORE (West) Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with funeral arrangements, 499-4100. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
