    • "Mr. Coenen came from Holland with Father Van Den Broek in 1848. While on the ship Mrs. Nick Dennissen died and Mrs. Coenen took care of the 6 months old Dennissen baby till they got to Little Chute. When they arrived here and saw what they were coming to, the little youngest son said to his dad, 'Father, these are all beggers huts.' Mr. Coenen was very well to do in Holland and he was also very generous and could not bear to see suffering, so he helped everyone he could till he was just as poor as the rest of them and he died of a broken heart at the age of 47 years. His hair was snow white."
