    • Leonard Baeten Dies
      After Year's Illness

      De Pere - Leonard Baeten, 82 retired farmer and brick yard operator, died late yesterday afternoon at his home, 420 College Avenue, after an illness of one year.

      Baeten was born in Holland and came to De Pere 72 years ago. He retired about 25 years ago but was very active until last year. Since boyhood he had gone deer hunting every season and kept up this sport until last year.

      The body is at the Ryan Funeral Home where the rosary will be said at 8 o'clock every evening until the funeral which will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Boniface Church, with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

      The survivors are his wife, formerly Lena M. Ambrosius of De Pere; four sons, Fred L., Henry and Dan, De Pere, and Leo with the army at Fort Knox, Ky.; two daughters, Mrs. Nora Vennix, Marinette, and Mrs. Christine Otis, Milwaukee; one sister, Mrs. Arnold Van Lanen, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Among the grandchildren there is a nun, Sr. Norella, Emmetsburg, IA.
