Diane (Truyman) Schumacher, age 68, of Appleton, died Sunday afternoon, February 11, 2024 surrounded by her closest loved ones. She was born in Seymour, WI on October 3, 1955 to the late Geraldine (Geri) and Benedict (Ben) Truyman. Diane married Lee Schumacher on October 24, 1980.

Diane is survived by her husband Lee, their daughter Katie, and brothers David (Carol) Truyman, Rick (Debbie) Truyman and Mark (Debbie) Truyman. She is also survived by a community of family and friends who will miss her warm smile and quick laugh.

The family would like to thank the many people who cared for Diane during the three years she lived with breast cancer, including Dr. Kari Wisinski and team at UW Health in Madison, as well as the healthcare teams at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton and Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh.

Diane lived a joyful life and loved spending time with her husband and daughter, enjoying live music, cheering on the Packers, and laughing with friends. She loved her dogs, Jessie, Toby, Winnie (Fred), Missy, Rosie, Gus, and Dixie. In honor of Diane’s commitment to rescue dogs, the family asks for donations to the Oshkosh Humane Society in lieu of flowers.

A service to celebrate Diane’s life will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 1:00 PM, at Wichmann Funeral Home. 537 N. Superior St, Appleton. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
