    • Joyce A. Van Goethem, 74, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Joyce was born on October 20, 1939 in Wrightstown to the late Lawrence and Martha (Dombrowski) Potts. On July 28, 1956 she married Arnie Van Goethem at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Eaton. Joyce and Arnie owned and operated East Krok Cheese from 1960 to 1984. After the sale of East Krok Cheese, Joyce worked for Krohn's Dairy from 1984 until her retirement in 2004. She was a member of St Therese parish.

      Joyce is lovingly survived by her husband of 58 years, Arnie and her seven daughters and three sons: Debbie (Bruce) Cochart, Cheri (Tom) Laing, Patty (Mike) Ambrosius, Kathy (Craig) Long, Tammy (Wayne) Selner, Vicki (Perri) Boettcher, Lisa (Brian) Lindsley, Michael (Brenda) Van Goethem, Mark (Brenda) Van Goethem, Matthew (Debra) Van Goethem, and special family friend, Richard (Kerri) Whittaker.

      She is survived by 24 grandchildren - Wade (Anne) Cochart, Tara (Brian) Walder, Colin (Abby) Cochart, Chad (Shelly) Laing, Jamie (Alan) Arkens, Carrie Laing, Jesse (Amanda) Thompson, Robbie Ambrosius, Chance, Connor and Ryan Long, Adam, Chelsea, Georgie and Jason Selner, Isabella Boettcher, Katelyn Lindsley, Courtney and Wyatt Van Goethem, Nathan, Tyler and Owen Van Goethem, Mitchell and Mason Van Goethem. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren: Landon and Chloe Cochart, Marlowe Walder, Nora Cochart, Colton, Jax, and Beckett Arkens, and another great-grandson expected in December.

      She is also survived by brothers, James (Patsy) Potts, John (Louise) Potts, Jeff (Ann) Potts, and the following brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bette Potts, Carol LeLou, Karen Van Goethem, Carol Van Goethem, Betty (Howard ) Wegner, Elaine (Don) Leiterman, Darrold (Pat) Van Goethem,Wilbert (Linda) Van Goethem, Ray (Jeanette) Van Goethem, and Diane (Vince) Delain, and numerous nieces and nephews.

      Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law Archie and Myrtle Van Goethem, brother Jerry Potts, sisters Janice Washington and Judy Murphy, and brothers-in-law Robert Murphy, Marlin Zimmer, Marcien LeLou, Robert Van Goethem, and Harold Van Goethem.

      Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee. A parish wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Wednesday until 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph/St. John Church at Pilsen with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Burial will be in St. Hedwig Cemetery.
