    • Joan M. Ver Voort, 80, of Kaukauna, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2011 at Cherry Meadows. Joan was born on May 11, 1931 in Kaukauna to Peter and Henrietta (VandeWettering) Huss. She married George Ver Voort on May 11, 1950. Joan loved crafts and playing canasta. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and she always looked forward to their visits. Joan was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

      Joan is survived by her two daughters: Bonnie Lamers of Kaukauna, and Sue (William) Barta of Kaukauna; six grandchildren: Kayla and Nicholas Lamers, Amy, and Katie, Rachel and Ryan Barta. She is further survived by a sister, Mary Van Groll; a brother, Gary (Kay) Huss; sisters-in-law: Jean Huss, Donna Huss and Shirley Huss; a very special friend, Jane George; her faithful dog Ernie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; a son, Ronald; a son-in-law, Richard Lamers; and brothers: Roland, Cletus, Cyril, Clayton and Peter.

      The funeral liturgy for Joan will be held on Friday, January 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH (309 Desnoyer St.) with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
