Josephine M. Grode, 210 Haylett St., Neenah, age 84, died Wednesday, October 8, 1992 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born March 2, 1908 in Menasha, the daughter of the late Michael and Jennie (Miller) Grode. She was a graduate of Appleton Business College. She was a Menasha resident most of her life. Josephine was employed by Theda Clark Regional Medical Center as a receptionist and switchboard opeator for many years. For the past 15 years she was a resident of Hearthside in Neenah. She was formerly employed by the city of Menasha in the Park and Rec Department. Josephine was a former member of Neenah-Menasha B.P.W. where she held the presidency and various positions.
Survivors include five brothers, Jerry (Grace) Escondido, California; James P. Clearwater, Flordia; Carlton G. 'Tut' (Mary Jane), Neenah; Chris (Gert) Neenah; William John (Mary) LaCrosse; two sisters; Anna Jane and Otis Graves, Appleton; Mildred 'Rintie' and Ken Wikoff, Pasa Robles, California; a special niece, Geraldine Martin, Glendale, California; and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Milton. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 10, 1992 at 11 a.m. at the St. Thomas Episcopal Chuch in Menasha with the Rev. William Johnston officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Menasha. Friends may call Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah.
