- Muriel M. Metzler, 84, Oshkosh, formerly of Green Bay, passed away early on Monday morning, March 19, 2012, at her home with her family at her side after a long battle with cancer. Muriel was born on May 30, 1927, in Green Bay, Wis., a daughter of Joseph and Agnes Boucher. She married Leo M. Metzler on Nov. 20, 1946, in Green Bay. Muriel worked side by side with Leo in their auto dealership, Metzler Sales & Service in Oshkosh for over 30 years. She was also the owner of Packer Ave Mini Warehouses.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Muriel on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Josaphat Catholic Church, corner of Walnut and Congress Avenues in Oshkosh. The Rev. Fr. Matt Simonar will celebrate the Mass. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park Mausoleum. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Metzler family on Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a Parish Prayer Service at the funeral home on Wednesdy at 7 p.m. A memorial in Muriel's name is being established for Lourdes High School. The family would like to thank Affinity Visiting Nurses (Hospice) and Caregivers Lana and Jessica for assisting the family. "Angels can be disguised as Mothers"
