- Robert Valley, 78, Little Chute, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Parkside Care Center. He was born on January 8, 1934, in the Town of Spruce, son of Charles and Nellie (Grindle) Valley. Robert was united in marriage to Greta Jane Piechocki on May 5, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. Bob owned and operated Valley Furniture & Refinishing and worked to refinish numerous pianos for Thomas Goudy's, Henri's, and Heid's Music Stores. He was also employed with Consolidated Papers for 16 years. In his free time, Bob enjoyed listening to music, especially harmonica and country music, and collecting records. Many memorable moments were spent at the family cottage up north on Moody Lake, affectionately known as "Our Place in the Sun."
In addition to his wife Greta, Bob is further survived by his children: Roger (special friend Sandi) Valley, Little Chute, Laura Eno, Appleton, Alan (Teresa) Valley, Seymour, and Jane (fiance Daniel McClure) Valley, Menasha; 15 grandchildren: Paul, Scott, Crystal, Lynn, John, Christopher, Ashley, Rachel, Leah, Andrea, Maria, Amanda, David, Joshua, and Jacob; 13 great grandchildren: Jaron, Madison, Hailey, Abagail, Amie, Lamarr, Logan, Austin, Sawyer, Avaleigh, and Alexis; a brother: Herbert Valley, Spokane, Washington; a sister: Lillian Vander Wielen, Appleton; many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was further preceded by 2 sons: John and Michael Valley; a granddaughter: Dawn Valley; brothers Lovall (Virginia), Elmer (Tressa), Melvin (Genevieve), and Jack Valley; a sister: Mary (Gaylord) Birr; a sister-in-law: Frances Valley.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 9, 2012, at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Robert's name. Verkuilen Funeral Home
