    • Edward Ver Hagen, 54, Route 3, Granton, died of a heart attack June 6 at his home.

      Funeral services were held June 10 in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chili with Fr. Carl Wohlmuth officiating. The body, in charge of the Bergemann Funeral Home of Neillsville, reposed at the family home until time of burial. A general rosary service was said at 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesda

      Edward Ver Hagen was born June 4, 1899, to Adrian and Christine (Joosten) Ver Hagen at Chili. He spent most of his life in Clark County. His marriage to Irene Gourlie took place November 23, 1926, at Bakerville, Wis. He worked for 10 years as a cheesemaker in Polk County, returning to a farm north of Chili where he farmed for another 10 years, moving then to a farm south of Lynn, where he resided until his death. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church of Chili.

      Survivors include his wife and the following ten children: Mrs. Ralph (Norma) Tauschek, Wisconsin Rapids; Sgt. Lester Ver Hagen, stationed in Germany; Mrs. Clarence (Joyce) Gilbertson, Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Donald (Eleanor) Kapusta, Marshfield; Mrs. Alvin (Edna) Kapusta, Wichita, Kans.; Howard, Harlow, Margie, Louis and Larry, all at home. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; three brothers, Paul of Long Beach, Cal.; Louis of Forest Grove, Ore.; Howard of Willard; and seven sisters: Mrs. Clarence (Ella) Livington, Clear Lake, Ind.; Mrs. Richard (Harriet) Donner, Long Beach, Cal.; Mrs. Ronald (Marie) Brown, Waukegan, Ill.; Mrs. Roy (Louise) Lindow, Spencer; Mrs. William (Bertha) Nebel, Lake Villa Ill.; Mrs. Edwin (Frances) Fait, Wisconsin Rapids; and Mrs. Alvord (Mabel) Selk, Chili. One brother is deceased.

      A requiem high mass was read Wednesday morning, June 10, for Edward H. Ver Hagen, age 54, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Chili. Fr. Carl Wohlmuth officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were; Roland Braun, Edwin Fait, Roy Lindow, Alvord Selk, Harry Ver Hagen and Joe Ver Hagen. Flowers were in charge of Bonnie Vergie, Gene and Garry Ver Hagen.
