- Gertrude M. (Basche) Boehnlein, 85, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Feb. 14, 2012, at home with her daughter by her side surrounded by the love of her family. She was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Green Bay, to the late Phillip and Lucy (Adriaens) Basche. Gertrude married Wallace Boehnlein on July 22, 1961, at St. Joseph Church, in Green Bay; he preceded her in death in 1994. Gertrude was a graduate of West High School. She enjoyed her time working at Northland Hotel and later for North Central Airlines where she met her husband, Wally. After marriage Gert became a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandsons. Gertrude enjoyed flowers, embroidering dishtowels, playing cribbage, working on puzzles, and feeding the critters in her backyard.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne (Marvin) Falish; grandchildren, Katie (Jordan) Sullivan, Tyler Falish, Megan Falish, and Alexander Falish; great-grandsons, Gavin and Brendan Sullivan; one brother, Edward (Dorothy)Basche; sister-in-law, Audrey Martin; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Lucy (Adriaens) Basche; stepfather, Claude Thompson; a brother, William (Patricia) Basche; a sister, Phyllis (Dewey) Decker; brother-in-law, Robert Martin.
Friends may call at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd. from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Mass of Christian Burial noon at the church with the Rev. Ron Belitz officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
