- Jacob Van Lanen, 10, De Pere, died peacefully in his mother's arms surrounded by family Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012. He was born July 10, 2001, in Green Bay, to Neil and Kelli Van Lanen. He touched the lives of everyone he met. Jacob loved dogs, playing board games and cards, and looking at books. He idolized his sister and enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, his family, and his nursing staff. He loved his friends and the staff at Syble Hopp.
Survivors include his parents; his sister, Melissa; his grandparents, Wayne and Judi Schaut, Gerald and Rose Ann Van Lanen; his aunts and uncles, Kayln Schaut, Bryan and Chris Van Lanen, Pam and Dan Nowak, Karen and Dennis Mohr, Laurie Beckers; his cousins, Morgan and Benjamin Van Lanen, Zachery and Houston Molnar, Danielle Beckers; his godmother, Jodi Goglin; his godfather, Bryan Van Lanen.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Funeral Service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
