    • Helen Catherine Linssen, 77, from Townsend, Wis. passed into eternal life on Jan. 1, 2012. Helen was born on Nov. 7, 1934, to her parents, Andrew and Sophie (Smits) Terrien. She was raised on a farm and attended school at Lincoln School in the town of Rockland and DePere High School. The family moved into Green Bay, where she soon met Gerald 'Jerry' Linssen. She worked for Wheeler Cheese for a short time. Helen and Jerry were married on Jun. 6, 1953. Helen became a stay at home mom for their large family. They built several homes in the Bellevue area as Jerry worked at Fort Howard. In 1973, they moved to Lakewood, where they owned and operated Lakewood Forest Products until 1976, when they bought a restaurant in Townsend. Linssen's Restaurant was a very successful family eating establishment for twenty years when Helen and Jerry decided to retire. In her retirement, Helen belonged to the Altar Society at St. Mary's of the Lakes, the Lakewood Homemakers, and the Red Hat Society.

      Helen is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Gerald, Townsend. Their children; Lawrence "Larry" (Terri), Tucson, Ariz.; Gary (Trudy), Lakewood; Theresa (Jack Smith), Weston; Glen (Diane), Townsend; Patrick (Chris), Pulaski; Jodi (Shawn McKenna), Townsend.

      Further survived by grandchildren; Eric Linssen, Tracy (Nathan) Ries, Brian (Mindy) Linssen, Paul (Rebecca) Liptack, Joseph Linssen, Bradley (Amy Brotherton) Linssen, Travis (Holly) Liptack, Andrea (Josh Berken) Linssen, Preston Liptack, Stephanie (Fiance, Ryan) Linssen, Tyler Liptack, Marina Derfus, and Taylor Derfus. Six stepgrandchildren; Erik (Jana) Kurth, Eric, Katie, and Tracy Fosterling, and Jordan and Dalton Aderholdt. 12 great-grandchildren; Noah, Dylan, Blake, Remington, Eli, Kassidee, Gage, Violette, Briahna, Nathan, Braylee, and Dallas. Two stepgreat-grandchildren; Logan and Alyssa Kurth. One sister; Loretta Zarnoth. A brother; Louis (Eileen) Terrien.

      Sisters and brothers-in-law; Eleanor Terrien, Jean (Ben) VandenBergh, Dennis (Sue) Linssen, Sharon (Cindy) Buresh, Joseph (Donna) Linssen, and Harold "Randy" Linssen.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Sophie Terrien, infant daughter, Mary, infant sister, Rosemary, sisters; Marcella (James) Seidl, Margaret Bain and brothers; Jerome, Melvin (Lil), Joseph and brother-in-law, Norman Zarnoth. Also Jerry's parents, Norbert and Myrtle Linssen.

      Visitation for Helen will be on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's of the Lakes Catholic Church in Lakewood. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers for Helen will include granddaughters; Tracy Ries, Andrea Linssen, Stephanie Linssen, Marina Derfus, eldest grandson, Eric Linssen, grandson (and godson) Tyler Liptack.

      The family would like to thank Dr. Halaweh and Dr. Hnatuk and the entire staff of Bay Area Medical Center, Northern Lights Clinic, and Unity Hospice for all the loving care given to Helen and all the kindness and compassion shown to all of the family.
