- Virginia Kolosso "Ginny", age 89, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2011 at her home. She was born July 14, 1922 to the late Walter and Anna (Huber) Funk in Menasha. Ginny married Pete Kolosso on May 19, 1945 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. She worked at Banta as a bookbinder and also as a crossing guard in Appleton at the corners of Badger and Winnebago for over 30 years. Ginny loved to shop, crochet and to visit with and go out to eat with friends and family.
She is survived by her 6 children: Jane Kolosso, Appleton; Kathy (Tony) Carpenter, Stevens Point; Mike (June) Kolosso, Rebecca (John) Jacobson, Sue (Ken) Brouillard and Pat Kolosso all of Appleton; 12 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; her sister, Sister Laura Funk, SSND, Elm Grove; sisters-in-law: Grace Funk and Barbara Funk.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pete; three brothers: Gene, Donald and Bobby and a young sister, Patricia.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, December, 16, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. David Funk OFM, Cap., officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may visit the family from 3:30 PM until the time of Mass at church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Church.
