- Alexander A. Cornelius, 15, De Pere, chose to see the Lord on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011. He was born Oct. 5, 1995, in Appleton, Wis., son to Erik and Pamela (Vander Heiden) Cornelius. He was entering his sophomore year at East De Pere High School. Alexander was a very bright, artistic young man who loved reading. Books were very calming to him. He also enjoyed video games, cooking, and deer hunting.
He will be deeply missed by his parents, Erik and Pamela Cornelius, De Pere; brother, Elliot; maternal grandparents, Richard and Lois Vander Heiden, De Pere; paternal grandparents, Jane Cornelius, Monticello, Minn., and Arlene Cornelius, Kentucky; aunts and uncles, Terry (Kim) Vander Heiden, St. Paul, Minn.; Dan (Lisah) Vander Heiden, Menasha, Wis.; and Judy (Paul Matsen) Cornelius, Minneapolis, Minn.; many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, other relatives and special friends, Alec Engelman and his family, Caylie Duncanson and her family; and his dog, Sonic.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur Cornelius.
Family and friends may call Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. Funeral service will be at 7 p.m., with Lay Pastor Steve Donovan officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
