Steven J. Ahrens, age 68, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at Appleton Medical Center. Steve was born in Appleton, WI on May 19, 1956, to the late Reginald and Ella (Ermers) Ahrens.
He graduated with the class of 1974 at Kimberly High School. Following high school, he attended UW Eau Claire College and graduated with an accounting degree and obtained his CPA. He met his future wife, Dawn Maurer on a blind date and on October 23, 1993, they were united in marriage at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly.
Steve started his own CPA practice, Ahrens and Associates in Appleton and worked until his retirement.
Steve is survived by his grandson Emery Ahrens; brothers-in-law: Todd Maurer, Washington, MI and Jay (Julie) Maurer, Willington, OH; niece, Bryonny; nephews Joshua and Jarron. He is further survived by his longtime friend Dan (Mary Kay) Pennings, longtime family friend Peggy Hartlund, friend Ric Meese and neighbors Rick and Carol.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Stephanie Ahrens, and his wife Dawn Ahrens.
A funeral service will take place at Noon on Monday, May 12th, 2025, at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel on Monday from 10 AM until Noon. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. |
