Katherine Blanche (Hopfensperger) Lehrel Van Dyne, Formerly of Neenah, age 87, died on Monday November 24, 1997 in the loving arms of her daughter, Rosemary at Rosemary's home in Van Dyne. Katherine Blanche was born November 17, 1910 in Darboy, the daughter of the late John and Nellie (Van Handel) Hopfensperger. Blanche was united in marriage to Robert R. Lehrer, January 8, 1934 in Darboy. She was a charter member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah.
Survivers include two daughters and sons in-law; Theresa (Otto) Zoesch, Neenah; Rosemary (Michael) Weninger, Van Dyne; five sons and daughters in-law; Robert J. (Martha) Lehrer, Eunice Lehrer, Dennis (Elayne) Lehrer, Roger Lehrer, Reinhold (Marilyn) Lehrer all of Neenah; Roy (Linda) Lehrer, Appleton; 29 grandchildren; Cindy (Robert) Balza, Robert (Betty) Lehrer, Sandy (Keith) Fischer, Tim (Peggy) Lehrer, Steven Lehrer, Lisa Lehrer, Maryann Zoesch, her fiancee, Robert Gerrow, Lorraine (Chris) Roemer, Rose Mary (John) Hartman, Rena (Wayne) Heaton, Rory (Penny) Lehrer, Travis (Therese) Lehrer, Roger (Kerrie) Lehrer Jr., John Lehrer, Katherine (Steve) Franzen, Katherine (Russ) Beoldt, Jacob Weninger, Frank Weninger, Melinda Weninger, Lucy Weninger, Mary Rose Weninger, Paul Lehrer, Stacy Lehrer, Tony Lehrer, Nicole Lehrer, Troy Lehrer and Amy Lehrer. 25 great grandchildren; Tony, Alex, Eric and Colleen Balza, Colette, Brittney and Hanna Lehrer, Zachary and Levi Fischer, Kayla, Brandon and Ryan Lehrer, Matthew Hartman, Brian, Tiffiny, Torree and Ty Heaton, Nicole, Travis Jr., Dillon, Alexis, David, Cassandra, Brandon and Bryan Lehrer; two sisters; Lucy Lemke and Carmen Beise; two brothers and sisters in-law; Reynold (Cecil) Hopfensperger, Earl (Mary) Hopfensperger; two brothers in-law; Wally and Clement Lehrer; two sisters in-law; Genevieve Hermand and Annette Lehrer.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Lehrer; a son, Richard Lehrer; a daughter in-law; Lilas Lehrer; three grandchildren; Diane Zoesch, Christopher and Jody Lehrer; 14 brothers and sisters.
Friends and relatives may call at Kessler Funeral Home, Neenah from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday November 28, 1997 where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. and Saturday November 28, 1997 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. mass which would be celebrated by Father Richard Allen. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Rosemary Weninger for her gentle care giving to Hospice, especially Mary Ketterhagen, further thanks to Dr. Stephen Dernlan.
