      Richard M. Hopfensperger 'Hoppy' 1511 E. John St., Appleton, age 86, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, July 29, 1995. He was born in Darboy on September 11, 1908, the son of Joha and Petronella (VanHandel) Hopfensperger. On July 11, 1936 om Appleton and she preceded him in death on May 5, 1986. Richard had worked at Kimberly Clark for many years where he was a member of their Quarter Century Club and also farmed in Darboy durng the same time. He retired from Kimberly Clark in 1973 and continued farming after hi retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Choir for many years and enjoyed dancing and his work horses.

      Survivors include three sons and daughters in-law; Richard (Margaret) Hopfensperger, Menasha; Thomas (Sharon) Hopfensperger, Appleton; Keith (Linda) Hopfensperger, Darboy; two daughters and a son in-law; Elizabeth Achterberg and her special friend Buzz Nelson, Neenah; Debra (Robert) Solberg, Brillion; 12 grandchildren; two brothers; Reynold (Ceil) Hopfensperger, Earl (Mary) Hopfensperger, all of Darboy; three sisters; Louise Lemke, Kaukauna; Blanche Lehrer, Neenah; Carmen Biese, Sherwood; a special niece and caregiver, Lucille Hopfensperger, Appleton.

      He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia; two brothers, a sister, three half-sisters and five half-brothers. The Mass of Resurrection will be held on Tuesday August 1, 1995 at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Highway KK, Darboy, with Father Harold Berryman officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the cortege leaves for the church. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday. A memorial fund is being established.
