- Martha L. Vanevenhoven, Little Chute, age 64, died on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, with her family present, following a courageous 40 year battle with multiple sclerosis. Martha was an angel here on earth and now she is an angel in heaven. She was born May 15, 1948, in Darboy, Wisconsin, daughter of Mary (Striegel) Hopfensperger and the late Earl Hopfensperger. On September 22, 1972, Martha married Daniel Vanevenhoven. The couple lived in Little Chute their entire married lives. Even with the debilitating disease that was handed to Martha, she still enjoyed her time here on earth. She maintained a positive attitude and was a courageous fighter through it all. She truly loved life and lived every minute to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She absolutely loved the time she spent in her sunroom and enjoyed spending summer days out in her garden.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dan; her children: Scott (Becky) Vanevenhoven and their children Thomas and Keira: Todd (Althea) Vanevenhoven and their children Allison, Trey and Henry; her mother, Mary Hopfensperger; her brothers: Jack Hopfensperger, Ralph (Sue) Hopfensperger; her sisters: Gerri (Jim) Steger, Marilyn (Al) Portman, Susie (Kurt) Weyers; her sister-in-law, Nancy (David) VandenHeuvel. She is further survived by nephews, nieces, and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Hopfensperger; her father and mother-in law, Ralph and Angie Vanevenhoven; and her sister-in-law Lyn Hopfensperger.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CHURCH (323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute) with Msgr. James Vanden Hogen celebrating. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the loving neighbors that have helped Martha throughout the years, especially Wendy. The family also would like to thank all of the caregivers throughout the years, especially Linda, Pat, Chris, Wendy, Renee and Heather. A special thanks is also extended to all of the visiting nurses and doctors, especially Dr. Beutler.
