    • Vande Hey, Bruce Norbert

Bruce N. Vande Hey, Little Chute, age 69, suffered from a heart attack and later passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born in Little Chute on April 21, 1944 to the late Nicholas and Wilma "Hon" (Verhagen) Vande Hey. Bruce married Sharon Driessen on December 28, 1963 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church where he was a life time member. He enjoyed being up north during the summer months at their cottage in Pembine and trips to Orange Beach, AL during the winter months. Bruce was an avid NASCAR and Packer fan. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at all of their sporting events. He was their number one fan. Bruce was very knowledgeable and a gifted man of all trades who willingly helped anyone in need. Even after retirement from Energy Control and Design, there was no project he was afraid to tackle. Bruce was always joined by family and friends for "School" at 3:00 every Saturday afternoon.

Bruce is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Sharon; daughters: Lisa (Craig) Hawley, Little Chute; Teri (Terry Dietzen) Heenan, Little Chute; and Tina (Bradley) Hoefler, Town of Vanden Broek; grandchildren: Kali (Peter) Vande Hey, Chase Hawley, Whitney Heenan, Brandon and PFC Tyler Hoefler; great granddaughter Emmaline Vande Hey; siblings: Eugene (Ethel), Dolores (James) De Bruin, Nancie (Melvin) White, Thomas (Lisa), Wayne (Louann) and Dale (Debbie); sisters-in-law: Bernice (Lew) Bain, Rita and Joanne Driessen; and Godchildren: Jeff Vande Hey, Jamie De Bruin and Kerrie Lindsmeyer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his infant sister Ethel; brother Gerald Vande Hey; mother and father-in-law Theresa and Henry Driessen; and brothers-in-law: Robert and Ronald Driessen.

Visitation will be held Saturday October 19, 2013 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) from 10:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. Mass will follow at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
