- Shirley Ann Harris, 77, a resident of the Forest Grove community died Sunday evening, May 19, 2013 at her daughter's home in Hillsboro.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at St Francis Catholic Church, 39135 NW Harrington Rd in Banks, OR.
A Funeral Mass will follow the Rosary at 11:00 a.m.
A reception will follow in the school basement.
Burial will take place at the St Francis Catholic Cemetery in Roy later the same day.

Shirley was born on July 10, 1935 in Verboort, Oregon. She was the oldest of 12 children born to Wilfred and Marion (Williamson) VanderZanden. She was raised on the family farm in Roy, OR and attended St Francis of Assisi Catholic Grade School. She also attended Banks High School.
She was united in marriage to Larry Murphy in 1953. Following their marriage Shirley made her home in Roy, Oregon, while Larry was stationed in Georgia, in the Army. Deborah was born in 1954, in Hillsboro, Oregon. Shirley and Larry divorced in 1956 and Shirley moved with her daughter to Tillamook, Oregon.
In 1959 she moved to SE Portland and met James Friezon,and they began a ten year relationship. From that relationship two daughters were born. Maryann was born in 1961 and Linda was born in 1962. Jim & Shirley separated in 1969.
In 1978 she married Leon Harris in Portland, Oregon. Leon drove for Tri-Met for approximately twenty five years. Leon died in 1981. In 1985 Shirley moved to Troutdale, Oregon, and then moved to Forest Grove in 2010 to be closer to her daughterÂ’s.
Shirley worked as a waitress and bar tender for several years, as well as working for Fred Meyer for over ten years. She was employed by Gerber Knives in production, and finished her career at the age of 70 with Walmart.
Among her interests she enjoyed camping, fishing clam digging and the outdoors. She also enjoyed reading, puzzles, card games, gardening and she also belonged to a bowling league. Shirley was a very strong and independent friend, mother and grandmother. She always looked forward to family gatherings with her immediate family as well as her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, her parents, Marion & Wilfred and her brother Marvin.
Survivors include [edited for privacy], seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
