    • Eleanor Ruth Schumacher, Little Chute, age 85, died at home Thursday October 8, 2015. She was born in Menominee, MI on January 21, 1930 to John and Florence (Beekler) Heinrichs. Eleanor married Eugene Schumacher on September 14, 1955 at St. Joseph Church in Appleton. She worked as a telegraph operator for the Milwaukee Road Railroad until her retirement in 1983. Eleanor was a vigorous advocate for her children. In her youth, she was an accomplished pianist and when actively encouraged could play a credible rendition of "The Flight of the Bumblebee," cold, after years without playing. In her free time, Eleanor enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She loved to camp with her family in various state parks, especially Hartman Creek in Waupaca.

Eleanor is survived by her husband of 60 years, Eugene; children: Cathy Briese, Dan (Sharon), Phil, Fran and Tim (Kelly) Schumacher; son-in-law, Vern Ehlke; grandchildren: Nick (Nicole), Joe (Carrie) and Tom Briese, Angie (Mat) Nolan, Cortney (Elliot) Asher, Aaron, Joanna, Bethany, Rachel, Emma, Katya, Noelle, Tonia, Josh, Jake, Calissa, Caitlin, Sam and Lexi Schumacher, Mark, Laura and Mike Ehlke; great grandchildren: Claire Briese and Jude Asher; siblings: John Heinrichs and Barbara (Peter) Geiger; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Maurice (Florus), Marvin (Leona), John (Katie), Jim (Donna), Marion and Germaine Schumacher. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
