- Reginald "Reg" Joseph Schumacher, 65, son of Clarence F. and Theresa B. (Doerfler) Schumacher passed from this life peacefully on February 28th, 2015.
He was born on March 9th, 1949 in Appleton. He was educated at St. John's Grade School in Little Chute and graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1968. He was employed by the downtown Appleton YMCA. He was also a loyal employee of the Paper Valley Hotel for many years.
In his younger days, Reg liked to tell stories of what he thought the future would be like. He enjoyed science fiction movies very much and entertained his nieces and nephews with science fiction tales. Reg was a very caring person who spent many years taking care of his mother after the death of his father.
Reg is survived by his siblings: Patricia Schumacher, Marilyn (Paul) Bethe, and Anthony (Lori) Schumacher; his nieces and nephews: Rebecca Schumacher, Matthew Schumacher, Brian (Tracy) Schumacher, Nicolas (Milissa) Bethe, and Stephanie (Rey) Rivera-Bethe. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Mary Rose Schumacher.
Visitation will be held Thursday March 5, 2015 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
