- Urania A. Kukla, 87, Green Bay, died Monday, July 11, 2011, at a local care facility. She was born on Jan. 1, 1924, to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Hermans) Basten. On Aug. 10, 1946, she married Edward Kukla at Holy Martyrs of Gorcum Catholic Church, they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage together this year. Urania and Edward were inseparable and did everything together. They especially enjoyed fishing and gardening. Urania and Edward were devout Catholics and were members at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; two daughters, Nancy (Roger) Timm, Karen (Mark) Erieau; three grandchildren, Craig Timm, Erin Timm and Brandon Erieau; brother, Leroy "Bud" (Angela) Basten; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Thelma "Toots" Vandenplas and Marcella "Sis" Brice.
Friends may call at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Road, on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Entombment at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.prokowall.com.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses of Bornemann Nursing Home for all of their care and concern.
