- Joan Vander Loop, 80, Kimberly, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, January 21, 2012. Joan was born October 17, 1931, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Benedict and Catherine (Geurts) Sanders.
Joan graduated from high school in West De Pere, and for many years worked as the City Clerk in De Pere. Joan was an active and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. She loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible.
Survivors include a son, Mark Vander Loop, Kimberly; a daughter, Ann (Kevin) Pawlacyk, Larsen; five grandchildren, Katie, Ben, and Matthew Henning and Joe and Alec Pawlacyk; three brothers, Earl (Melba) Sanders, Harold (Carol) Sanders, and Butch (Bonnie) Sanders; two brothers-in-law, Ken DeCleene and Bob Van Dyke.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bud (Helen) Sanders; sisters, Lou DeCleene and Rosie Van Dyke; and a sister-in-law, Becky Sanders.
A memorial service for Joan will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton, with Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in De Pere. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5 p.m.
