    • Ione Mary (Williamsen) Brecklin

Ione Brecklin, age 86, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. She was born on July 25, 1928 in Little Chute to the late George and Mary (Raymacher) Williamsen. Ione was a long time member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, enjoying her time with the Seniors Group and early morning Mass. Ione enjoyed Rosemaling and quilting with her friend, Lynn Verhagen, and was a talented seamstress. She also loved reading and the weekend always meant at least one novel. Ione looked forward to her Tuesdays with Lynn at St. Bernard Parish to complete the sewing projects for their Fall Fair. Ione was married to Robert Van Zeeland who passed away in 1957, she then married Arnold Brecklin in 1960 and he passed in 1994.

They blended two families with love. She is survived by the children: Barbara (David) Plamann of Hortonville, George (Robin) Van Zeeland of Iola, Mary (friend Jack Hendricksen) Fuller of Appleton, and Andy (Carolyn) Brecklin of Chicago; grandchildren: Kristi (Rob) Compton and Aaron (Leslie) Plamann; Rose and Rob Van Zeeland; Brett and Jeff Brecklin; Mark Dolan; Caitlin, Seth, Dana, and Eric Brecklin; and Kelly (Jack) Beaulieu; great grandchildren: Nick and Eliza Compton, Lindsey Beaulieu; siblings: Sister Audrey Williamsen of Racine, Pauline (Ron) Weber of Appleton and Clayton (Mary) Bries of Sheboygan; sisters-in-law: Myra Dercks of Little Chute and Donata Wolfgram of Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her husbands, stepmother Geraldine Williamsen; children: Bruce Brecklin and Mary Beth Brecklin and a granddaughter Elizabeth Plamann.

The funeral liturgy for Ione will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 19, 2015 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald Street in Appleton. Fr. Gerald Falk will be officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. A visitation will be held Monday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

We would like to thank Affinity Hospice and nurse, Laurie, for all her care and Home Helper, Judy, for treating Mom with such love and respect. She really enjoyed her time spent with these two special people.
