    • Mary Beth DeGroot, age 46, of Appleton, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Brewster Village. Mary Beth was born in Appleton on January 27, 1965, to James and Marion (Wolter) DeGroot, and lived in Appleton all her life. She worked at Valley Packaging for 25 years.

      She is survived by her parents, James and Marion DeGroot, Appleton; 7 sisters: her twin, Mary Kay DeGroot, Appleton, Janet Feavel, Anchorage, AK, Dorothy Clark, Appleton, Paticia (Kerry) Pfeifer, Madison, Margaret DeGroot, Clintonville, Joan (Ron) LeMieux, Appleton, and Ann (David) Waller, Appleton; 4 brothers: Charles (Suzanne) DeGroot, Appleton, Gregory (Joan) DeGroot, Appleton, Timothy (Judy) DeGroot, East Troy, and David DeGroot, Appleton. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

      She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jacob and Katherine Wolter, and her paternal grandparents, Frank and Anna DeGroot.

      A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, with Father James Leary, OFM CAP. officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Holy Spirit Catholic Cemetery, Darboy. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for the Special Olympics (Valley Packaging) has been established in her name.
