    • Hobart - On May, 23, 2018, Ruth Ann Vannieuwenhoven, 79, of Hobart, left this world for a better one. She was born October 6, 1938 in Green Bay to Jerome and Elsie (Hockers) Roberson. Ruth Ann graduated from St. Boniface Grade School in 1952, St. Joseph's Academy in 1956, St. Norbert College in 1960, and from an internship at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac in 1961. On May 26, 1962 she married Tom Vannieuwenhoven and they were married 36 years until his passing on June 13, 1998.

      Tom and Ruth Ann had 6 children and they spent most of their free time their first 25 years of married life supporting their kids sporting and social endeavors. When not chasing their kids around they enjoyed going to Packers games, traveling, and playing cards

      Ruth Ann enjoyed gardening, crafts, and was a self-proclaimed grammar aficionado.

      Ruth Ann was an active and founding member of the Homesteaders Brown County UW Extension Homemakers Association for over 50 years. She had served as a 4H Fair Judge at numerous county fairs in the area. She was a long-time member of St. Joseph's parish in Oneida and was a member of the parish choir.

      Ruth Ann was remarried on May 23, 2009 to Howard Ott and they enjoyed traveling and spending time at and on the lake.

      Ruth Ann was a Laboratory Technologist and after working at several medical practices in the Green Bay area started her own mobile medical support service which she continued to own and operate until the time of her death.

      Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her first husband and both of their parents. She is survived by sons, Ty (Joann), Todd (Mary), Trevor (Vicki), and Troy (Noel); daughters, Tara (Curtis) Marolt, and Trista (Dan Jalinski) Vannieuwenhoven; grandchildren, Sadie, Maggie, Thomas, Matthew, Tanner, Hunter, Tatum, Keely, Ava, Sloan and Scout; siblings, Reuel (Faye) Robertson, Roma (Russ) Gettleman, Rhea (Wayne) Vandehei, Roberta Jadin, Randall (Jean) Robertson, and Regis (Cheryl) Robertson.

      Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Joseph Parish, 145 St. Joseph Drive, Oneida. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

      Memorial donations in Ruth's honor may be made out to St. Norbert College, Attn: Tripp Maher, 100 Grant Street, De Pere, WI 54115 for the Ruth Ann Vannieuwenhoven Family Scholarship.
