- Robert R. Acord, age 77, of Neenah, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home at King. He was born on December 16, 1933, in Appleton, the son of the late Lester and Lyda (Ellefson) Acord. Bob served his country in the U.S. Marines. Following his employment, he enjoyed his retirement in the Crivitz area before moving back to the Fox Valley.
Bob is survived by his children: Tom (Rachel) Acord, Kaukauna; LuAnne Adank, Neenah; Barbara (Dave) Honer, Neenah; and Sherry Blome, Neenah; grandchildren: Tara (Mark) Krause, Tanya (Corey) Clark and Eric (fiancee Tanya Sullivan) Acord; Jackie Adank, Jamie (Eric) Coopman and Tyler; Clarence Wisthoff; Tamara and Janese Blome; six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Acord; his brother, Donald Acord; and sisters: Lois Persson, Jean Klein and Joyce VanWeddingen.
The memorial service for Bob will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL. Inurnment will take place at the Wisconsin Veteran's Cemetery in King. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
