      Williamsen, Elizabeth "Elsie" "Betty"

      Elsie, age 101, of Appleton, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Emerald Valley Assisted Living. She was born September 21, 1907, in St. John, WI, daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Meier) Derfus. She married John Williamsen June 9, 1951, sharing 42 years together before his death February 8, 1993. Elsie was employed by Appleton Woolen Mills for 46 years and retired in 1973. She was a member of St. Benadette Catholic Church. She was strong in her faith and prayed the Rosary daily.

      Elsie is survived by: nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and God Children. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Mae, Anne,Vi, and two brothers: Norbert and Frank.

      Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, with Rev. Donald Zuleger officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

      The family would like to thank the staff at Emerald Valley Assisted Living for their love and compassion during Elsie's stay.
