- Jeanne K. Baeten (Kolb) died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1930, to the late Ted and Dorothy (Pies) Baeten at St. Vincent Hospital. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from De Pere High School in 1948. From 1948 to 1950 Jeanne was employed at Wadhams Oil Company as a stenographer, and was then a stay-at-home mom from 1950 to 1968. From 1970 to 1978 she worked at the Wisconsin State Reformatory in the stenographic pool. Following two riots at the reformatory, she decided it was too dangerous, and began a career with Brown County. She held posts at the Brown County Veterans Service Office, Register of Deeds, and Treasurers office before retiring in 1993.
Jeanne is survived by four of her five sons, David (Linda) Kolb, Asheville, N.C., and his sons, Demian (Kathy), Christopher and Nicholas; Keith (Cindy) Kolb, Suamico, Wis., and his children, Andy (Lea Ann) Kolb, Marinette, Wis., Tricia (Keith) Burnell, Green Bay, Wis., and Shannon (Ethan) Brower, Chicago, Ill.; Mark Kolb, Green Bay, Wis., and his children, Simone, Waukesha, Wis., and Clint, Green Bay, Wis.; Craig (Meg) Kolb, Suamico, Wis., and their children, Allie and Kyle. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Melanie and Audrey; her brother, Bill (Gretchen), Green Bay, Wis.; one very dear aunt, Cora; and a very dear cousin, Barbara Nelson, Appleton, Wis. A very special person in Jeanne's life, Kathy Drews, also survives her, as well as many nieces and nephews, many special friends from her time as manager as the De Pere Estates, and all of her new friends at Woodside Oaks.

Kolb in 2008; her daughter-in-law, Patty (Vander Zanden) Kolb; maternal grandparents, Frank and Catherine Pies; paternal grandparents, Peter and Anna Baeten; a very dear aunt, Mary Lou Baeten; five special uncles, Al, John (Maggie), Harry, Ray, Frank Baeten; and two favorite cousins, Anna Baeten Malcore and Patty Baeten Dorsch.
Family and Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 27. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the Church, with Father Tim Shillcox, O.Praem, officiating. A luncheon will follow the Mass at Church.
