- Reginald J. Gloudemans Town of Menasha Age 84, died on Saturday, January 6, 2001, at his home. Reginald was born on November 4, 1916, in Little Chute, son of the late Martin and Martha (Vandenberg) Gloudemans. He married Julia Van Zeeland on July 21, 1945, and they have enjoyed 55 years of marriage. He served in the United States Army during World War II from April 9, 1941, to September 25, 1945. He was overseas with the 135th Medical Regiment for 34 months in the Southwest Pacific Area. Reginald was employed as a plumbing inspector for the City of Appleton for over 19 years, until his retirement in 1973, and was a past president of the Wisconsin Society of Plumbing Inspectors. He was also one of the founders of the East Central Wisconsin Plumbing Inspectors Association. Reginald was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton since 1953. He is a Life Member of Council 607 Knights of Columbus, a member of American Legion Post 38, and a member of the 135th Medical Regiment Association. Reginald is survived by his wife Julia four children, Paul (Donna) Gloudemans, Flanders, New Jersey Louise (James) Zeller, Appleton Jeff (Jean) Gloudemans, Kokomo, Indiana Eileen (Douglas) Thomas, Appleton two sisters, Geraldine Van Zeeland, Little Chute Elaine Doyle, La Habra, California six grandchildren, Diana (Mark) Wolff, Laura Zeller, Chad and Ross Thomas, Kathryn and James Gloudemans and five sisters-in-law, Dorothy Gloudemans, Sister Cecilia Van Zeeland, Ann Schneider, Donata Wolfgram and Myra (Russell) Dercks. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Reginald was preceded in death by a brother, Quintin, and a sister, Evelyn. Reginald's Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, Appleton, with Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 9, from 6 until 8 p.m., and again at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
