      James Hietpas

      Age 72, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 1989. He was born July 28, 1916 in Little Chute. He had been in the restaurant business for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 258, Little Chute; and he had served in the Army during World War II.

      Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. David [Joan] Butzlaff, Appleton; four brothers, Paul and Delores Hietpas, Little Chute; Gordon and Dorothy Hietpas, Green Bay; Richard and Rosalie Hietpas, Kaukauna; Bill and Pat Hietpas, Little Chute; a step brother, Emil Boettcher, Bronson, Florida; three sisters, Verona Pahl, Kaukauna; Grace and Bill Van Dyn Hoven, Kaukauna; Marie Verstegen, Little Chute; three sisters in-law, Wilma and Peter Van Boxtel, Little Chute; Myrtle Hietpas, Little Chute; Lydia Vosters, Menasha; four grandchildren; Kelly, Karry, Lance, and Nicki.

      He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; and a brother, Austin.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 1989 from St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks with the Rev. Robert Vandenberg officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call at the Verkkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute from 5-9 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the services. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Military rites will immediately follow the Mass.
